An old favorite, Bamboo Wind has been used on Suzan's show cards as you can see in the photo supplied. Suzan brushed this painting using a technique of Chinese painting through which she was able to express the shading of the bamboo in a single stroke. The leaves add a sense of movement and life to the composition as if being blown by the wind. Brushed below the bamboo is a large character for "wind." Suzan's seal in red is placed in the bottom right corner adding a touch of color to this otherwise traditional sumi ink painting. The overall composition is balanced and harmonious, embodying the simplicity and grace characteristic of traditional East Asian art.
