Iroha Blue Butterfly is Suzan's painting of a  lotus flower in black sumi ink on a delicate transparent tengucho paper. Mounted on a washi paper composed of overlapping cranes in shades of blue, green, and white shows through the sheer tengucho paper of her brushwork creating depth and intricate detail. Suzan also brushed Iroha, the ancient Japanese poem about the fleeting nature of reality which describes the ancient lotus flower.
