Morro Rock 2 was painted as a part of Morro Rock 1: a repurposed Big Brush painting I had done but rejected. Still there was a brush stroke I was attracted to and, when I returned from my Road Trip, it reminded me of Morro Rock. And so I added color and transformed the rejected Big Brush painting into something else. Trying to conform to an exhibit size limitation I ended up separating this smaller piece and framing it separately. My preference is for both of them to be hung together; but others have found each to be attractive standing independently.
