My newest artwork made especially for the Claremont Village Venture Festival! A character -KI- for life spirit or energy tops this scroll which displays Suzan's one liner "Once a rare beauty, but no more" in square word calligraphy (it's English which looks like characters.) With a Tesshu-like skull adorned with a flower growing out of its eye socket at the bottom. Full of meaning, and lightheartedness, this scroll, mounted on gold silky material is a one of a kind. Selling at Festival price for the season!
Skull Scroll
Scrolls have no protective glass or heavy frames and so they are easy to display, move, and store; they roll up. A traditional Japanese home would have a collection of scrolls and they would be changed out according to the season, or the affinities of a special visitor. Easy to do.
